FAQ

Yes, there are other ways as well apart from the normal departure schedule. In case you wish to travel without being accompanied by other people and travel according to your pace, please inform us while making the booking and we shall arrange a private tour for you.

Wednesdays are Papal Audience days. This time St. Peter’s Square gets busy and the Basilica remains closed until about 1pm. So the tour is 1:30pm that day, but still tourists get skip-the-line entry for the Museums, Sistine Chapel and the Basilica after.

Families like a private arrangement so that children are not a distraction to others and can ask any question as per their convenience. It is very simple. One just needs to ask for a private guide at the time of making the booking and indicate the number of people as well as their age.

There are very clear regulations for taking pictures in the Sistine Chapel: there cannot be any flash photography throughout the whole Sistine Chapel, and during some seasons, no photographs can be taken at all for preservation reasons. This will be communicated by your guide when you visit.

The groups are kept small for practical reasons in order to be able to hear the guide and view the art. Want even more room to yourself? Choosing to book a private Sistine Chapel tour takes the group out of the equation entirely.

Shorts, tank tops, and short skirts have no shoulders and knees have to be covered, no exceptions. Security checks this at the door, so a light scarf tucked into your bag as backup saves you from getting turned away after standing in line.

In this case Wednesday will be slightly more challenging because of the Papal Audience in St. Peter’s Square. Peter’s Square. Tour in Rome suggests a 1:30 p.m. start for the guided experience, with St. Peter’s Basilica affected by the audience schedule. The Basilica is closed until 1:00 p.m., so morning and early afternoon plans need to be arranged carefully. (tourinrome.com)

Yes, the listed price for a private Sistine Chapel tour is all-inclusive covering the ticket, reservation fee, entrance charges, and applicable taxes. Anything beyond the standard package, like optional add-ons or private upgrades, would be listed separately before checkout, so there shouldn’t be any surprise costs on the day itself.

The mornings are cooler and usually less crowded until the bus loads of tourists come. In case you like late mornings, then the afternoons may be good enough for the tour. However, the schedule on Wednesday and the last Sunday of each month is completely different.

The rules for cancellation are subject to different policies according to the particular tour or ticket purchased, clearly indicated during the booking process before finalizing your payment. Booking beforehand makes changes easier than last-minute bookings worth keeping in mind if you’re weighing whether to book a private Sistine Chapel tour, since private slots often carry tighter terms once confirmed.
